Fan Fiction and Fan Culture

Fan fiction and fan culture have become increasingly popular in recent years, with fans of movies, TV shows, books, and other media using the internet to share their own stories and interpretations of their favorite characters and worlds.

While some critics have dismissed fan fiction as derivative or low-quality, others see it as a creative and empowering form of expression that allows fans to engage more deeply with the media they love.

Fan fiction is a form of writing that involves using characters, settings, and other elements from an existing work of fiction to create new stories. Fan fiction can take many forms, from short stories and novellas to full-length novels and even screenplays.

Fans of a particular work of fiction may create fan fiction for a variety of reasons, such as exploring different character relationships or filling in gaps in the original story.

Fan Fiction

One of the key advantages of fan fiction is its accessibility. In traditional publishing, writers may struggle to get their work noticed, and fan fiction allows anyone to share.

Fan fiction communities on sites like Archive of Our Own and Fanfiction.net have millions of users, and writers can receive feedback and support from fellow fans.

Another advantage of fan fiction is its ability to foster a sense of community and collaboration. Many fan fiction writers work together where different writers can contribute their own stories and characters to a larger narrative.

This collaborative approach can lead to rich and complex storytelling that is not possible in traditional publishing.

Fan culture a wide range of activities and behaviors associated with fandom has also become increasingly popular in recent years.

Fans may attend events, and engage in online discussions and debates about their favorite media.

One of the key features of fan culture is its emphasis on participation and engagement. Fans of a particular work of fiction are deeply invested in the characters discussing every detail of the narrative.

This engagement can lead to a sense of ownership and empowerment they have a stake in the media they love.

However, fan culture is not without its challenges. One of the key criticisms of fan culture is that it can lead to toxic behavior. In some cases, fans may become so invested that they lash out who do not share their opinions.

This can create an unwelcoming environment for those who have different interpretations of the same media.

Another challenge facing fan culture is the tension between fans and creators. While some creators welcome fan fiction as engaging with their audience, as a violation of their intellectual property rights

Some creators have even issued cease and desist against fan fiction writers, leading to a sense of frustration among fans.

Despite these challenges, fan fiction and fan culture continue to thrive as a unique and powerful form of expression.

Allowing fans to engage more deeply as they love fan culture has helped to create more diverse storytelling. As more fans discover the joys of fan fiction, the medium will continue to evolve in exciting new ways. 바카라사이트

Celebrity Gossip and News

Celebrity gossip and news is a multi-billion dollar industry that has captured the attention of people worldwide. Whether it’s about the latest fashion trends, breakups, makeups, or scandals, celebrity news is always in demand.

In this article, we’ll explore the phenomenon of celebrity gossip and news and examine its impact on society.

The fascination with celebrities is not a new phenomenon. From kings and queens to movie stars and athletes, celebrities have always captured the imagination of people around the world.

Celebrity gossip

However, the rise of the media industry in the 20th century brought a new level of scrutiny to celebrities.

With the advent of radio, television, and the internet, celebrity news has become a constant presence in our lives. Social media platforms like Instagram, Twitter, and Facebook have made it easier than ever for celebrities to share their lives with their fans.

And with the rise of paparazzi and tabloid journalism, the private lives of celebrities have become a public commodity.

While some people view celebrity gossip and news as harmless entertainment, others see it as a toxic influence on society. Critics argue that constant focus on celebrity lives promotes a culture of celebrity worship over more important values like kindness.

One of the most significant impacts of celebrity gossip and news is its effect on body image and self-esteem. The constant pressure to look perfect and maintain a physique can lead to body dysmorphia and eating disorders.

The images of flawless celebrities can create unrealistic standards of beauty that are impossible for the average person to attain.

Another negative aspect of celebrity news is the way it perpetuates stereotypes and reinforces gender roles.

This gender bias can have a damaging impact on young girls and women, who may internalize the message that their worth is based on their looks and relationships.

Despite its many critics, celebrity gossip and news remain a popular form of entertainment that generates billions of dollars each year. From tabloid magazines to reality TV shows, there is no shortage of outlets for celebrity news.

And with the rise of social media influencers, the line between celebrity and everyday person is becoming increasingly blurred.

One of the most significant challenges facing the celebrity gossip and news industry is the issue of privacy. While celebrities have chosen to put themselves in the public eye, they are still entitled to a certain level of privacy.

Paparazzi and tabloid journalists often cross the line in their pursuit of a story, invading the privacy of celebrities and their families. This can lead to lawsuits and legal battles, as well as damage to the reputation of the publications involved.

Despite these challenges, the celebrity gossip and news industry shows no signs of slowing down.

As long as people continue to be fascinated by the lives of famous people, there will always be a market for celebrity news. However, it’s important to remember that while celebrity gossip may be entertaining, it’s not a reflection of real life.

The lives of celebrities may be glamorous and exciting, but they are also often fraught with the same challenges and struggles that everyone faces.

Conclusion

Celebrity Gossip and news is a complex and multifaceted phenomenon that has both positive and negative impacts on society.

While it can be entertaining and informative, it can also perpetuate harmful stereotypes and promote unhealthy body ideals. As consumers of media, it’s important to be aware of these issues and to consume celebrity news responsibly and critically.

By doing so, we can enjoy the entertainment value of celebrity gossip without losing sight of the more important things in life. 바카라사이트

The evolution of music genres: Music genres have evolved

The evolution of music genres: Music genres have evolved and changed over time, reflecting changes in society and culture. This topic could explore the history and significance of various music genres, from classical to hip-hop.

Music is an essential aspect of human culture, and music genres have evolved over time, reflecting social and cultural changes. From classical music to hip-hop, every genre has a unique history and significance. In this essay, we will explore the evolution of music genres, examining the social and cultural context that has shaped them.

Classical music is one of the oldest and most well-known music genres. It emerged in Europe during the Baroque era, around the mid-17th century. This music was typically composed for orchestras and was performed in large concert halls.

Classical music is known for its complex and structured compositions, with a heavy emphasis on melody, harmony, and rhythm. The music often reflects the social and cultural values of the time, with composers drawing inspiration from literature, art, and philosophy.

evolution

As society changed, so did music genres. In the early 20th century, jazz emerged in America, reflecting the cultural changes of the time. Jazz music is characterized by its improvisational style, with musicians often riffing on established themes and melodies.

Jazz was born out of the African-American experience, and it was a significant part of the Harlem Renaissance, a cultural movement that celebrated Black art, music, and literature.

Evolution: As jazz continued to evolve, so did other music genres. In the 1950s, rock, and roll emerged, drawing on elements of blues, country, and gospel music.

Rock and roll quickly became a global phenomenon, with bands such as The Beatles, The Rolling Stones, and Led Zeppelin selling millions of records worldwide.

In the 1970s, another music genre emerged – disco. In the 1980s, electronic music emerged, reflecting the technological advancements of the time.

Electronic music quickly became a staple of the club scene, with DJs such as Frankie Knuckles and David Guetta using it to create a new sound that would later become known as house music.

In the 1990s, hip-hop emerged as a dominant music genre, reflecting the experiences and struggles of urban Black communities.

Hip-hop quickly became a cultural phenomenon, with artists such as Tupac Shakur and The Notorious B.I.G. becoming household names.

As the 21st century dawned, music genres continued to evolve, reflecting the changing social and cultural landscape. In the 2000s, pop music emerged as a dominant genre, with artists such as Britney Spears and Justin Timberlake dominating the charts.

In recent years, other music genres have emerged, reflecting the diverse and multicultural nature of modern society. For example, K-pop has become a global phenomenon, with bands such as BTS and Blackpink selling out stadiums worldwide.

Latin music has also become increasingly popular, with artists such as Daddy Yankee and J Balvin achieving international success.

Conclusion

the evolution of music genres is a reflection of the ever-changing social and cultural landscape. From classical music to hip-hop, every genre has its own unique history with each one reflecting its values.

As society continues to change, so will music, with new genres evolving to the multicultural nature of modern society. Music has the power to bring people together and provide a soundtrack to our lives, also an influence. 바카라사이트

The Impact of Social Media on Celebrity Culture

The impact of social media on celebrity culture: Social media has transformed the way we consume and engage with celebrity culture, with both positive and negative consequences. This topic could explore the effects of social media on celebrity image and privacy, as well as the ways in which celebrities use social media to promote their brand.

Social media has fundamentally changed the way we interact with celebrities and consume celebrity culture. Platforms such as Twitter, Instagram, and TikTok provide celebrities with unprecedented access to their fans, allowing them to build their brand and connect with their audience on a more personal level.

At the same time, social media has also blurred the line between public and private life for celebrities, exposing them to intense scrutiny and criticism. In this essay, we will explore the impact of social media on celebrity culture, including its effects on celebrity image and privacy, as well as the ways in which celebrities use social media to promote their brand.

One of the most significant impacts of social media on celebrity culture is the way it has transformed celebrity image. In the past, celebrities relied on traditional media outlets such as magazines, television, and film to project a particular image to their fans. They carefully crafted their public persona, often with the help of publicists and other professionals.

However, social media has disrupted this traditional approach, allowing celebrities to take control of their image and connect with their fans on a more personal level. With social media, celebrities can share photos and videos of themselves behind the scenes, giving fans a glimpse into their daily lives. They can also interact with their fans directly, responding to comments and messages in real time.

This increased access to celebrities has had both positive and negative consequences. On the one hand, social media has allowed celebrities to build stronger connections with their fans. By sharing their lives online, celebrities can create a sense of intimacy and relatability that was previously impossible.

Fans feel like they know their favorite celebrities on a personal level, which can lead to increased loyalty and engagement. Additionally, social media has given underrepresented groups a platform to connect with celebrities who share their experiences, leading to increased visibility and representation.

On the other hand, social media has also exposed celebrities to intense scrutiny and criticism. With millions of people following their every move, celebrities are under constant pressure to maintain a perfect image.

Even a single misstep can lead to a backlash, with fans and the media quick to pounce on any perceived misbehavior. This constant scrutiny can take a toll on celebrities’ mental health and well-being, leading to burnout and other issues.

Another way in which social media has impacted celebrity culture is through its effects on privacy. In the past, celebrities could control their public image to a certain extent, keeping their private lives separate from their public persona.

However, social media has blurred this line, with celebrities sharing intimate details of their personal lives with their fans online. While this increased access to celebrities can be exciting for fans, it can also be invasive and damaging to celebrities’ privacy.

For example, paparazzi have long been a thorn in the side of celebrities, with their invasive tactics often leading to harassment and even dangerous situations. However, social media has made it even easier for fans and the media to track celebrities’ every move, leading to increased scrutiny and intrusion.

Celebrities can find it challenging to maintain a sense of privacy, with every aspect of their lives potentially subject to public scrutiny.

Finally, social media has also provided celebrities with a powerful tool for promoting their brand. By sharing their projects, accomplishments, and collaborations online, celebrities can reach a massive audience and build their fanbase.

They can also use social media to engage with fans directly, building a sense of community around their brand. For example, many celebrities use social media to announce upcoming projects, tease new releases, and engage with fans through Q&A sessions and other events. 바카라사이트

The Majority Of Complaints Over Sam Smith And Kim Petras’ Performance At The 2023 Brit Awards

After their “Unholy” performance at the 2023 Brit Awards, Sam Smith and Kim Petras sparked complaints from dozens of UK viewers.

Sam Smith and Kim Petras performed their hit song “Unholy” once again after receiving some criticism for their Grammy performance.

According to the office’s website, 106 complaints were made over this year’s Brit Awards, which were held in London on February 11 and televised on ITV1. The Office of Communications oversees TV, radio, phone, and other services. According to a representative of Ofcom, the bulk of complaints were about Sam Smith’s performance, with the remainder being against the use of profanity and alcohol consumption.

The couple recently received criticism for their performance at the 2023 Grammys, which featured Petras dancing in front of flames and Smith donning a headgear with devil horns.

Petras was the first transgender woman to win a Grammy in the category of music duo/group performance with Smith.

They ditched the flaming red design for a grimier, post-apocalyptic, Mad Max-inspired appearance at the Brit Awards, pulling more from the car “body shop” elements in the song video. After Smith left the stage while still sporting his devil hat, two dancers could be seen making out on a car’s hood.

Although 106 complaints were sufficient to rank in the top three on Ofcom’s weekly public list, they were insignificant in compared to other recent contentious shows.

Top of the list for the week was Capital FM radio personality Ant Payne, who received criticism for advising listeners to purchase “cheap” flights to Turkey following an earthquake that left thousands dead 카지노사이트 추천 in that country. 567 complaints were made against that program, according to Ofcom. More than 50,000 complaints—the largest in recent memory—were sparked by Piers Morgan’s remarks concerning Meghan Markle’s suicidal concerns.

Only 18 complaints were made to the Federal Communications Commission about the “Unholy” Grammy performance in the US, according to TMZ.

The stage was covered in motorbike and car pieces in a Mad Max-esque fashion. The beat-heavy bop caused the black-clad, grease-stained backup dancers-turned-mechanics to distort their bodies. The performance was slightly less jaw-dropping than what they gave on the Grammy stage on Sunday (Feb. 5) but it was still incredible.

The duo’s wicked performance at the Grammys caused a lot of criticism with its ghastly dancers, horned showmaster, cage of flames, and everything else bathed in a terrible red glow. Smith and Petras have now been charged with practicing devil worship through their actions that night on stage.

Many tweets criticizing the performance as diabolical were reposted by Senator Ted Cruz. Retweeting Liz Wheeler, a conservative commentator, he added, “This…is…evil.” Don’t fight the culture wars, they advise, she said in her own piece. Demons, meanwhile, are influencing your children to adore Satan. I might urinate.

According to a post by blogger Matt Walsh, “It’s not unexpected to witness a satanic ritual during the Grammys.” “Worshiping oneself is what is meant by satanism. In this perspective, most of today’s pop music is satanic. Satanism is leftism. The only modification is that they are now more direct about it.

Despite being branded as “unholy,” Smith and Petras won the Grammy that evening for Best Pop Duo/Group Performance, marking Petras the first transgender person to do so.

The Top 5 Choices For Gambling Anime You Must See

One of the most well-liked entertainment genres is anime, which an estimated 3.5% of people throughout the world routinely watch. You can watch countless good shows, including Death Note, Bleach, and Naruto. We shall discuss the top gambling anime today and why we adore it. You will undoubtedly like our list of the best five anime about gambling, regardless of whether you enjoy taking chances yourself.

1. Kakegurui – Compulsive Gambler

Kakegurui is the most accurate gambling-related anime you will likely come across. The entire Netflix series is based on Homura Kawamoto’s gambling manga series. The plot takes place in Hyakkaou Private School, a high school where students are only judged on how well they play the slots.

Even if this is strange, the academy’s objective is to create future leaders and professionals who are only judged on their capacity to outperform their colleagues in different gambling games. Students who pay for their own tuition eventually succeed or fail and are forced to submit to the others.

In an even stranger turn of events, any student who doesn’t advance quickly through the hierarchy is referred to as a “house pet” in Kakegurui. Yumeko Jabami, a stunning first-year transfer student with a sinister secret, steps in at this point. She didn’t join Hyakkaou for money or status. She is a pathological gambler who enjoys gambling intensely.

It makes no difference how it manifests itself or how much risk she carries. Yumeko only wants to keep playing, and her obsession with games of chance has put her in a position where she poses a threat to the school’s established order. The student council will attempt to silence Yumeko since they perceive her as an enemy, but Yumeko has far too many sly tactics up her sleeve.

This is without a doubt the best gambling anime on Netflix right now, and the series has already delivered two excellent seasons.

2. Gyakkyou Burai Kaiji: Ultimate Survivor

Nobuyuki Fukumoto’s Kaiji first appeared as a manga in 1996 카지노게임법, and it was printed up to 2017. Although the producers first intended to call the anime Gambling Apocalypse Kaiji, the franchise was bought up by Madhouse and turned into the 26-episode anime television series Kaiji: Ultimate Survivor.

Because of the positive reviews, Nippon TV chose to screen a follow-up called Kaiji: Against All Rules, which was praised by viewers as a deserving continuation. The property was made into a live-action film trilogy to satisfy the fan craze, with the first film, Kaiji, arriving in theaters in October 2009.

Kaiji 2 debuted in November 2009, and it took a another nine years for Kaiji: Final Game—which will hit theaters in January 2020—to provide some closure. But why has the show continued for more than 20 years? The plot holds the key.

The main character, Kaiji Itou, is a down on his luck bad guy who spends much of his time drunk. Kaiji is rapidly forced to sober up and join an illegal, underground gambling ring on a cruise liner after being duped by an unkind acquaintance into running up a big debt.

Just one or two violent altercations, but a decent amount of gaming, forces Kaiji to adjust to his new way of life, which is full of perils of all kinds. One of the best gambling animes we have ever seen, you will like the plot’s depth and intrigue as well as Kaiji’s believable and motivating persona.

3. Legendary Gambler Tetsuya

The Legend of the Gambler: Tetsuya was a manga series that ran from 1997 to 2005 before being televised as Legendary Gambler Tetsuya between October 2000 and March 2001. Tetsuya uses a classic master and disciple scenario in which the pupil outperforms the teacher.

Tetsuya, a talented gambler in post-World War Two Japan who enjoys playing mahjong in Shinjuku City, is the protagonist of the anime series. Despite all of his talent, Tetsuya isn’t opposed to using it all to succeed. Tetsuya wants to cheat anytime the chance presents itself, in contrast to other gambling-related anime like Akagi, which uses cunning mind tricks to overcome opponents. “It’s only cheating when you are caught,” he said in his own words. Until then, it’s a successful tactic.

Tetsuya is really based on the true account of gambler Takehiro Irokawa, who earned the moniker Hourouki Mahjong and added even more spice to the show. The harsh realism embedded in the anime is one of the reasons why Legendary Gambler Tetsuya works. Of course, the anime romanticizes a little bit, so not everything should be accepted at face value.

Japan is portrayed in all of its post-war reality, with the illicit mahjong parlors providing hollow relief to a devastated nation. The characters are believable, the drama invokes both optimism and sadness, and the anime has an entirely other vibe.

In Famous Gambler Tetsuya, the professional gamblers don’t feel bad about cheating. In fact, cheating was regarded as an obvious talent attribute in those days, and professionals would compete against one another to deduce the other’s plan since they knew it. All of this contributes to Legendary Gambler Tetsuya becoming one of the most captivating gambling-related animes available today.

4. Touhai Densetsu Akagi: Yami ni Maiorita Tensai

Another anime about gambling, Akagi is set in the post-World War II era. Shigeru Akagi, the title character, is a young boy who fights the Yakuza members in a game of mahjong and defeats them at the age of 13, as Japan moves on from the horrific bombing of Hiroshima and Nagasaki.

By helping Nangou, a compulsive gambler who has amassed a debt of three million, Akagi rapidly demonstrates his talent. In one final game that swiftly turns to push him closer to the edge, he puts his life against defeating the mafia in a desperate bid to clear his identity.

But, Akagi shows up just in time to give Nangou some somewhat odd counsel that works, and Nangou is released from his obligation. Afterwards, Akagi starts playing by himself, and everyone quickly sees that the young man is a prodigy who is destined to become one of the nation’s most renowned gamblers.

But, Akagi has his own issues because he is running from the police. We think this is one of the best gambling-related animes available today since it tells the account of a street kid who improves his lot in life by developing an aptitude for mahjong, which was a goal for many people in post-World War II Japan.

Before the show aired in 2005, there were two live-action movies back in 1995 and 1997, and then, the character of young Akagi was evoked in a live TV drama between 2015 and 2017.

5. Saki

Saki is a fantastic gambling-related anime that borrows elements from both Akagi and Kakegurui – Compulsive Gambler. Saki Miyanaga, a schoolgirl, despises mahjong in all of its forms because it has in the past had a bad impact on her life. Nevertheless, when her friend Kyoutarou Suga invites her to join the school’s mahjong club, young Saki unintentionally exhibits her aptitude for pattern recognition and success at the game.

Despite Saki’s best efforts to hide her pledge, the club president Hisa Takei swiftly recognizes it. Saki has an advantage because of her unusual playstyle. That unintentionally earns her the enmity of Nodoka Haramura, a skilled club member and the champion the year before. During the course of the program, Saki swiftly gets over her reluctance to play mahjong and chooses to set herself a new objective: winning national competitions. Young Saki’s rediscovered enthusiasm for the game is further fueled by her friendship with Haramura, with whom she reconciles.

Saki contends that it’s less about gambling than it is. It involves recognizing patterns. Saki is recognized as one of the best gambling animes of all time, and for good reason. It is true that the anime has its dramatic moments, but overall, it is a lighthearted and enjoyable spectacle.

The manga series by Ritz Kobayashi, which was written and illustrated by Gonzo, was continued in the television program, which aired on TV Tokyo in 2009.

One of Japan’s most significant cultural exports is anime. Anime is guaranteed to hook you from the first minute you lay eyes on a show you like, whether that’s Naruto or Full Metal Alchemist, whether or not you have an interest in Japanese culture. The history of the business can be traced all the way back to the 19th century and the Utushi-e or magic lantern exhibitions that gave the appearance of moving pictures.

While still produced during World War II, Momotar: Umi no Shinpei was the first anime-focused film to be released. With the founding of Toei Animation and Mushi Production, one of the nation’s first animation studios, things did begin to improve and will likely continue to do so.

Due to the genre’s adaptability, animes now cover a wide range of topics, from horror to epic sagas to fighting to high school animes. The value of the Japanese anime market was $19 billion in 2019.

Since the business started airing series in the middle of the 20th century, over 11,000 different series have been recorded, some of which, like Bleach and Naruto, frequently feature hundreds of episodes.

Pop Culture Icon Dolly Parton’s Lyrics Match Up With Her Positive Persona

Study indicates that the lyrics of pop culture icon Dolly Parton are consistent with her upbeat persona.

Parton defies the trend of more depressing lyrics in pop and country music.

According to a Wilfrid Laurier University study published this month, Dolly Parton’s upbeat persona is consistent with the words of her songs.

The study counted the positive words in her music to assist researchers gauge the mood of her songs, using what it called unique “linguistic inquiry and word count” software.

Judy Eaton, a psychology professor and the study’s author, told CBC News, “So [Parton] talks about suicide, she talks about mental illness.”

Although she may not necessarily be thinking just happy thoughts—Nine to Five is a song about social injustice—we were intrigued by the language she employs to express her thoughts. According to Eaton, country and mainstream song lyrics have generally become more depressing.

Due to Dolly’s public persona of positivity, Eaton stated, “we were curious to see whether Dolly sort of fits that downward trend of positivity and we kind of assumed maybe she wouldn’t.”

They discovered that Parton had maintained a cheerful attitude for more than 50 years that she has been recording music.

Dolly Parton is one of the most adored country music artists and exudes cheerfulness in public, but do her lyrics reflect this outlook? Professor Judy Eaton of Wilfrid Laurier University dove in to learn more.

According to Amanda Kind, a vocal coach and country music performer from Waterloo, “I believe there’s kind of a general notion that the world should defend Dolly Parton at all costs, and I think her happiness, joy, and radiance absolutely contribute to that.”

Kind claimed that what appeals to her about Parton and the song is her capacity “to articulate profoundly emotive and universal circumstances in ways that seem uplifting.”

The study’s results didn’t surprise Kind since “the energy she exudes in interviews and the way she talks about music and other artists is pretty much naturally positive all the time,” he said.
Kind observed that she appeared to be someone who frequently sought for the good in circumstances.

Parton as a role model.

Avnee Sharma, a doctoral student, and associate psychology professor Danielle Law are part of Eaton’s team, which she described as “positive psychologists” who study “what makes individuals thrive?”

They chose Parton as a subject because of this approach.

We would talk about positive psychology and what constitutes a successful model of flourishing, said Eaton. “And Dolly’s name kept coming up because she is such a wonderful example of someone who genuinely loves positive,” the speaker continued.
Michelle Letwin, the branch president of Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library, described her as “simply such a giver and such a person that actually lived and breathed being able to make a contribution in other people’s lives.”

The Brant neighborhood library in Guelph encourages literacy by giving children under five years old free books.

I believe that what makes her so legendary and such a great person, why she’s enduring the test of time and just being a part of many generations, is the fact that she started with her music and then used that celebrity and that recognition for her to make a difference.

Conspiracy Theories About Ancient Aliens: Idiocy, Fabrications, And Lies

I’ve purposely avoided Ancient Aliens up until now. We had a hunch that if we watched the program—which popularizes improbable, unsupported nonsense about how extraterrestrial visitors have shaped human history—my brain would wriggle its way out of my skull and prowl the planet in search of a gentler host. Or, at the very least, viewing the show would be about equivalent to a weekend binge in Las Vegas in terms of brain cell death. But then we learned that dinosaurs were the subject of the History Channel’s avalanche of pseudoscience. We prepared ourselves for the suffering as we sat back and observed the insane events.

Actually, I’m relieved that my editors forbid me from using foul language on this site. If they did, my review would essentially consist of swear words. we can only attempt to summarize the glossy, documentary-format garbage in a more logical and reader-friendly manner given my limitations.

The fact that my editors forbid me from using foul language on this site makes me happy in fact. If they did, my entire review would consist mainly of foul language. Given my limitations, we are forced to make an effort to summarize the glossy, documentary-format garbage in a more logical and reader-friendly manner.

The Ancient Aliens program contained so many errors that we could spend the entire week refuting them all. The Gish Gallop, named after young earth creationist Duane Gish, is a typical tactic used by cranks and self-styled science detractors. Gish quickly spouted off a succession of misunderstandings and lies to bury his opponent under an avalanche of fictions and distortions when making public speeches regarding evolution and creationism. Even if Gish’s opponent made an effort to free themselves, they would never be able to move far enough forward to be able to confront Gish head-on. The same strategy is used by Ancient Aliens—the fictions come thick and fast.

Contrary to what certain basic cable cranks would claim, aliens did not exterminate Tyrannosaurus and Triceratops. (Photo shot at the Natural History Museum of Los Angeles, courtesy of the author)

While the main plot of the episode is that dinosaurs were wiped out by aliens to make room for our species—a sci-fwe scenario supported by some hilarious, spliced-together dinosaur footage running from strafing alien craft, perhaps a preview of Dinosaurs vs. Aliens the movie—the various ancient alien experts do little more than assert that such a thing must have happened. Surprise, surprise—they don’t actually support their allegations with any facts.

Instead, they use circumstantial evidence from extreme Christians who are never called that. Creationist Willie E. Dye is acknowledged as a biblical archaeologist without mentioning his young earth creationist beliefs, and creationist Michael Cremo is simply named as the author of Forbidden Archeology. The makers of Ancient Aliens obviously didn’t care about the credentials or subject matter knowledge of the talking heads they used—all that mattered was that someone spoke the proper things in front of the camera.

The creationists didn’t let us down either. Cremo explains, “Some researchers observed human footprints alongside the footprints of dinosaurs,” about halfway through the program. The quotation, which is a remark taken out of context from Cremo’s interview, is heard in a segment when it is claimed that Roland T. Bird, a paleontologist at the American Museum of Natural History, discovered human footprints beside dinosaur tracks near Glen Rose, Texas.

Such a thing wasn’t discovered by Bird. He discovered numerous dinosaur tracks and footprints—one of which he and his team anachronistically positioned behind the AMNH’s “Brontosaurus”—but no human footprints. Strangely enough, though, Bird’s choice to go to the track locations at first was influenced by fake human footprints.

The sale of sauropod and theropod tracks was a cottage industry in the Glen Rose area before Bird discovered the dinosaur footprints. Additionally, a few locals engraved phony human footprints into the same stone. Just before he departed to study the site firsthand, Bird actually observed two of these forgeries at a trading post in Gallup, New Mexico, together with dinosaur tracks removed from the Glen Rose region.

The frauds failed to deceive Bird. He recognized them for what they were and took a considerably greater interest in the authentic dinosaur footprints found in the same stone. However, some dogmatic creationists have placed their faith in fakes and even dinosaur tracks that they have incorrectly interpreted as being real.

A bit later in the episode, Dye makes another appearance to lend his backing to another example of creationist nonsense: the Peruvian Ica Stones. This time, Dye adopts the typical creationist stance that humans and dinosaurs coexisted. These well-known fakes are stones with engravings of people and dinosaurs interacting. Basilio Uschuya, a farmer, and his wife used popular culture portrayals of dinosaurs in novels as inspiration for their creation. Nevertheless, Dye and the Old Aliens program describe the stones as though they were genuine ancient artifacts that document the existence of dinosaurs like Triceratops up until virtually the present.

Dye claims that because the stones are so accurately etched, ancient people must have known a great deal about dinosaurs, even though we know that the precision was achieved by Uschuya diligently replicating mid-20th century dinosaur art. Our narrator just mentions that scientists are dubious about the stones’ provenance.

There are a couple additional terrible gems in the show. Even though our narrator spends a lot of time discussing how carbon-14 dating is problematic for determining the age of dinosaurs, paleontologists do not utilize carbon-14 to make such estimates. Only carbon-bearing materials that are less than 60,000 years old can be accurately dated using radiocarbon. Instead, to constrain the history of non-avian dinosaurs, paleontologists utilize several radiometric dating methods. Geologists can calculate the age of the rock from which samples were taken by looking at the relative amount of uranium and lead, the element that uranium decays into.

Different dating methods are employed for rocks of various ages, and these methods have produced time estimates for the existence of dinosaurs. The secret is identifying layers, such ash beds, that are above or below layers containing dinosaurs and contain radioactive elements. Geochronologists use the age of the rock beneath or above the dinosaur’s bones, which can be properly dated, to establish how long ago the dinosaur lived. Because it relies on stale creationist talking points, Ancient Aliens criticizes a process that its creators obviously don’t comprehend.

My favorite rambling, however, is on what will ultimately happen to the dinosaurs. Even its own story is difficult for the show to maintain. fringe television character The coelacanth is used by Franklin Ruehl to argue for the contemporary or recent existence of non-avian dinosaurs. Before a live one was discovered in 1938 off the coast of South Africa, these ancient lobe-finned fish, which Ruehl correctly notes were extant long before the first dinosaurs emerged, were believed to be extinct. Since then, a small number of fossil coelacanth discoveries have closed the gap between living examples and those that existed 66 million years ago at the end of the Cretaceous period.

The coelacanth is a red herring, as paleontologist Darren Naish has repeatedly noted. Coelacanth fossils are uncommon and challenging to detect, at least in strata from the last 66 million years or more. The fact that their fossil record seems to have plateaued is not at all surprising. However, the bones of non-avian dinosaurs were far more distinctive. In fact, when we study time periods that are getting closer to the present, the resolution of prehistoric ages improves. Large, distinctive animals like Triceratops, Stegosaurus, Apatosaurus, and Tyrannosaurus would have appeared in the fossil record by now if they had survived for millions of years following the end-Cretaceous asteroid impact. The evidence is clear—with the exception of avian dinosaurs, all other dinosaur lineages went extinct about 66 million years ago.

But shortly after Ruehl declares, the software completely forgets what he stated. The narrator speculates that aliens altered dinosaur DNA to transform the imposing giants into smaller, less deadly species like the coelacanth near the end of the show. Never mind that more than 360 million years ago, more than 130 million years before the earliest dinosaurs formed, coelacanths were already present in the world’s oceans. The suggestion is just nonsense (as is the whole show, really). Giorgio Tsoukalos, an alien nut with wild hair, then offers up another thought. He claims that although the coelacanth actually did become extinct, millions of years later it was brought back by a “direct assurance from extraterrestrials.” Why? Tsoukalos seemed unconcerned. And most of his fellow talking heads mutter something about aliens paving the path for our race.

The program can’t seem to decide whether dinosaurs somehow survived to the contemporary era or whether aliens wiped them off 66 million years ago. What kind is it? Did aliens exterminate dinosaurs so that humans could survive? Or did some dinosaurs manage to avoid going extinct? Throughout the entire show, conflicting thoughts bounce around like ping-pong balls. Grandpa Simpson’s tales are more logical.

A few actual scientists participated in the program. Throughout the program, paleontologists Luis Chiappe and Mark Wilson, for instance, make an appearance. We can’t help but feel sorry for them, and we wonder if scientists ought to just stop participating in such initiatives. Programs like Ancient Aliens merely take advantage of scientists, even while we believe it is important and desirable to expose incorrect claims made in the name of science, such as intelligent design and the fiction of living dinosaurs. Responsible scholars are frequently misrepresented in order to promote the unfounded fictions spread by the extraterrestrial fan club.

It would appear that programs like Ancient Aliens, MonsterQuest, and Finding Bigfoot have little to no interest in really discussing science. Speculation that is the most startling will always win. These programs simply do not favor scientists.

Some of the most toxic filth on television may be found in Ancient Aliens. Fanatics are given free rein while real experts are called in to deliver soundbites that are misinterpreted and taken out of context. We can only assume that the program is purposefully deceiving viewers because fiction is presented as fact and real scientific information is so egregiously misrepresented. It is abhorrent of the History Channel spinoff to offer the program as a documentary on a network that airs non-fiction programming. Technically speaking, Ancient Aliens airs on H2, a History Channel subsidiary. If the network and the show’s producers want to portray Ancient Aliens as a brief examination of radical concepts and make it obvious that the concepts aren’t meant to

Why Beyonce Thanked The Queer Community For Her Record-Breaking Grammys 2023 Win

Beyonce’s album “Renaissance” is jam-packed with samples (music or lyrics from songs already in existence that are used by another artist) from some legendary disco classics. Queer, Black musicians invented the genre. How did it start to have an impact on music? We clarify.

The 2023 Grammy Awards, which primarily honor performers in the English and Spanish-language music industries, saw American singer Beyonce become the recipient of the most awards in history after taking home four medals.

Beyonce has been singing since she was a little girl, and in the 2000s, she became more well-known as a member of the girl band Destiny’s Child. Since then, she has experimented with a number of musical styles, including pop, rap, R&B, Disco, and House in her most recent album from 2022, “Renaissance,” for which she received honors on Sunday. The singer stated in her speech, “I’d like to thank the queer community for your support and for creating the genre.

She also expressed gratitude to her gay uncle, who had assisted in raising her. He was courageous and outspoken at a period when our country wasn’t as accepting, she remarked in 2019. One of the most agonizing moments of my life was seeing him struggle with HIV.

Disco and House music dominated in the 1970s, and in recent years, their appeal has increased as a result of a huge number of contemporary musicians drawing influence from the genres. We examine the origins of the genres and the LGBTQ community’s contribution to their development. What genre of music is meant by the term “disco”?

In the 1960s, the word “disco” initially referred to the French word “discotheque,” which described a location where music was performed. This was abbreviated to refer to settings that resemble clubs. The name originally referred to a type of music that was created at these clubs when the concept arrived in the US from France.

These sounds were novel because they combined synthesisers, four-beat kick drums, saxophones, and bass. Here are some of the most well-known songs from this time period with disco sounds to help you grasp what it means: “Daddy Cool” by Boney M, “Stayin’ Alive” by the Bee Gees, and “I Feel Love” by Donna Summer. Bollywood tunes like “Disco Deewane,” “Disco Dancer,” and “Yaad aa raha hai” are also included in this genre.

Beyonce’s ‘Renaissance’ is full of samples (tunes or words of existing songs that are taken by another artist) from some iconic disco hits. What is the link between disco and queer communities?

It has to do with how music was composed and consumed. In an episode of their podcast “You’re Wrong About,” journalists Sarah Marshall and Michael Hobbes discussed how there wasn’t much danceable music available at the time in nightclubs. In cities like New York, DJs started chopping up and fusing together existing songs to create their own, longer versions. These versions may last up to six or seven minutes, which was unusual at the time.

They would mostly borrow from Latino and Black musicians because the tunes they produced frequently looked to be appropriate for fast-paced dancing, like jazz and soul. Additionally, because black and brown LGBTQ individuals were not as widely accepted at the time, these temporary dance clubs became important. They were refused entry into the most elite clubs, and there was also the fear of violence.
Since these populations could identify to aspirational themes that projected confidence, singers started recording unique disco tunes, and the lyrics started to convey themes of love and empowerment.

How disco rose and fell. Following the civil rights revolutions of the 1960s, which included the Stonewall riots of 1969, which later served as a catalyst for the LGBTQ community’s mobilization, this era saw a number of cultural developments. The history of DJing is discussed in the podcast, which quotes the book “Last Night A DJ Saved My Life,” which claims that the disco craze is similar to what enormous dance halls with crystal chandeliers did during the Depression when the economy was awful.

Record companies and reputable organizations started attempting to capitalize on these developments by the middle of the 1970s. John Travolta’s 1977 blockbuster “Saturday Night Fever” was heavily influenced by the music and the sequence in this movie. But in order to appeal to a wider audience, these mainstream movies and music had to downplay their origins from underrepresented communities.

As the decade came to an end, disco’s declining popularity in pop culture was due to both overexposure to the genre and pushback from more traditional music lovers. In what has come to be known as the “Disco Demolition Night,” a radio host in Chicago incited crowds to assemble at a stadium prior to a baseball game to burn Disco CDs. A return to the mainstream. Many contend that disco’s influence on Western music persisted long after this particular evening. A good example of this is the “House” genre, which combined disco songs with other components like electronic beats. The French music group Daft Punk popularized this sound in the late 2000s and early 2010s, as did singers like The Weeknd, Dua Lipa, and even K-pop performers in the 2020s.

Also outside of the West, disco gained popularity. In the 1980s, Bappi Lahiri introduced the genre to India. He once remembered, “I was in a club in Chicago when I made my first trip to the United States. There were no DJs at the club at the time, but there was a man spinning records.

The Live-Action 2023 Little Mermaid Expectations

Along with the thrilling Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom, the Little Mermaid remake has a regrettable flaw. In movies, the enigmatic ocean depths are occasionally only as striking as the afilmmaker’s creativity and the tools at hand. Ariel and Aquaman set the bar high for maritime adventures, and when subsequent films push further into the ocean, expectations are high.

As Disney animators toiled to create the film’s underwater sequences, The Little Mermaid and its distinct characters once stood out as an animated extravaganza. In the meantime, Aquaman gained popularity for its entertainingly outrageous action and stylized deep-sea towns. The first Avatar: The Way of Water trailer, however, surfaced in 2022, two years after the initial release of both movies. The trailer 에볼루션바카라 for Pandora, James Cameron’s follow-up to 2009’s Avatar, showcased how the film’s ground-breaking visual effects would bring its oceans to life. Avatar: The Way of Water’s trailer, which had over 146 million views in 24 hours, didn’t let fans down and further cemented the series’ reputation as the pinnacle of computer-generated imagery.

The shadow thrown over them by Avatar: The Way of Water presents a challenge for Aquaman and The Little Mermaid as they get ready for their upcoming theatrical releases. Comparisons to James Cameron’s work, whose passion project already set a new benchmark for what is feasible for beach CGI, will surely be made with the Little Mermaid remake and Aquaman 2’s sequel. There are already concerns about whether Aquaman 2 and The Little Mermaid will be able to surpass Avatar 2’s ground-breaking aquatic technology or fall short.

There is no doubting that Avatar’s visuals showcase some of the greatest of contemporary CGI, despite the fact that its narrative are controversial among critics. James Cameron’s attempts to construct Pandora’s oceans have already established themselves as unsurpassed. There’s no denying that Cameron’s labor was wonderfully Herculean when he dove into the Mariana Trench to gather raw material, employed cutting-edge performance capture equipment, and shot underwater scenes in both real-world and computer-generated settings. However, critics have noted that Disney’s live-action remakes are infamous for their poor CGI.

Dumbo’s designs are unnerving, the Lion King’s cast is “expressionless,” and Pinocchio is “wooden” in all the wrong ways. The Little Mermaid’s first impression wasn’t much better, as many people observed the teaser trailer odd underwater movements with a clear lack of bubbles and swinging debris. It also felt lifeless. Ariel also appeared to be singing from a land-based studio rather than an underwater cave. Although DC hasn’t provided much information on Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom, the several delays leading up to its debut are troubling. Despite the parallels that Disney and Warner Bros. will definitely make between their underwater scenes, they cannot hope to equal the standards Cameron has established.

Avatar: The Way of Water is a visual competitor, but there’s still a chance that Aquaman 2 and The Little Mermaid may succeed. Halle Bailey’s selection as Ariel in The Little Mermaid received plaudits, and the first movie is a Disney classic. When thinking back on Aquaman, it’s clear that, despite the controversy surrounding the second movie, the lead actor Jason Momoa and the lavish action have won over audiences. Sometimes all a movie needs to stand out is the correct actors and plot; special effects don’t always determine a movie’s success.

There is a lot of pressure on Aquaman, the Lost Kingdom, and The Little Mermaid to look as good as they are fun. The underwater CGI in Avatar: The Way of Water appears to have set a challenging new bar based just on the trailers. If the finished product is as daunting as it initially appears, remains to be seen. The response to The Little Mermaid video since its debut at Disney’s D23 Expo last month has left Halle Bailey speechless.

Halle and her sister Chlöe spoke with ET’s Kevin Frazier at the WACO Theater Centers’ Wearable Art Gala, which was organized by Tina Knowles-Lawson and her husband Richard to raise money for the organization’s artistic and youth mentoring programs. The two discussed the live-action movie, new music, and more.

Fans get their first glimpse of Halle as Ariel while watching her swim past fish and sea turtles while traversing the water. In the trailer, Ariel comes across a shipwreck at one point. When it abruptly cuts away, she is just about to peer inside. As “Part of Your World” reaches its climax, fans can finally hear and witness Halle perform the beloved Disney song.

“It’s been just insane and overpowering. After seeing all the infants, I’ve been overcome with emotion “At the Saturday charity event with a Harlem Nights theme, Halle exclaimed. I’m so touched by this honor that I can’t help but pinch myself. Little Black girls, who are seeing themselves on TV for the first time as the iconic Disney princess, and Halle, who said that seeing their emotions made her cry, have both been particularly affected by the clip.

The countdown to the movie’s May 2023 premiere is both thrilling and emotional, according to Halle, who also said that she feels like she’s been waiting a very long time for the movie.
“I can hardly wait for the release. We’ve been talking about it for a while, but I feel like I’ve been waiting for so long. Now that the rollout is beginning, I’m incredibly pleased that everyone will get to witness, “She spoke. “I really hope everyone enjoys it. We shall see.”

Along with Daveed Diggs providing the voice of Sebastian the crab, Jacob Tremblay as Flounder, and Awkwafina as Scuttle, the movie also stars Jonah Hauer-King as Prince Eric, Melissa McCarthy as Ursula, and Javier Bardem as King Triton.

While Halle and Chlöe have long collaborated, they both maintain their own careers in music and film. According to the sisters, nothing is more gratifying than witnessing one another thrive.
It’s amazing, Halle said, “absolutely like me, I feel like I get even more thrilled for Chlöe’s music videos than she does, because she’s filled with nervousness, but I’m like, ‘Girl, you should see.'” “I truly like it.”

The same is true for Chlöe, who expressed her feelings to ET, saying, “I think it goes both ways because when you’re in it, you’re just focused on your nerves and internalizing everything, but being able to watch sis in all her glory has been so incredible, and I’m so happy the world is seeing what I’ve always seen since we were like, this tall.”
She continued, “So, in everything we’re doing together, and separately, I’m so, so proud of her.
On May 26, 2023, The Little Mermaid is scheduled to float into theaters.

Some Of The Misconceptions About Marilyn Monroe

A new exhibit opens this week at the Getty Images Gallery in London that will feature rare and never-before-seen photos of Marilyn Monroe, as well as the star’s clothing and other memorabilia. It follows last year’s Oscar-winning film My Week starring Marilyn and has proven to be more popular than ever. And why not? Not only was she the most beautiful and glamorous star of Hollywood’s Golden Age, but she lived a mysterious and tragic life that ended recently in 1962, when she was only 36 years old. Since his untimely death, the legends surrounding him have passed into the realm of fiction, but do they have any basis in reality? The more you dig, the more you realize that actually, no, most of the time they didn’t really happen. Here are some humdingers…

Although it’s not what it seems, Marilyn is said to be a size 16 in today’s tight fit. This is often taken for granted when the debate about the image is heated.

In fact, a UK size 16 is a US size 12, which automatically fits. But both are wrong. According to most of the clothes he made for her, she has a 22 inch waist and a 34 inch bust, which is incredibly curvaceous. Around the bust it’s a size 8-10, but at the waist it’s a small size 6-ish. It’s always good. Myth… Marilyn was in a porn movie

We are not sure about this. The skin film he allegedly appeared in, aptly titled “Apple, Knockers and the Coke Bottle”, was almost certainly fake.

In the “deer scene,” the dimwitted actor turns an apple over his chest and swallows a bottle of Coke. But not Marilyn. This is actress Arline Hunter, a Playboy Playmate. However, there is another untitled short film, shot between 1946 and 1947, which many believe shows the star ‘in action’ – although many argue. One example was sold at auction in Buenos Aires last year, while another sold in 2001 for £950,000. For some people, it must be wrong that Norma Jeane Baker is perfect. So when the snap was taken while she was taking pictures with photographer Joseph Jasgur at Zuma Beach, California it appeared that Marilyn had another toe on her left foot, immediately holding it. Jasgur himself grabbed him to help sell his book, saying he could use his photo to show it off. Unfortunately, the circulation of the picture with the five flags seems to indicate this. The sixth mystery is considered by almost everyone to be a piece of sand and an illusion of light.

No. It’s not him. Marilyn had not yet emerged from the trappings of showbiz when the 1953 Disney adaptation of JM Barrie’s Peter Pan was released, having only played minor roles in supporting roles until then. Actress Margaret Kerry was actually the inspiration for Disney’s Tinkerbell, as her eye makeup is closely related to Betty Grable.

Marilyn Monroe’s latest heartbreaking interview. Published in Life magazine on August 3, 1962 – just one day before the actress died of an overdose at the age of 36 – it found Monroe reflecting on her celebrity status, think differently, speak wisely.

“When you’re famous, you naturally encounter human nature,” he said. “It inspires envy, yes. People you meet think that, well, who is she, who is she, who does she think she is, Marilyn Monroe?

The same question – who is the real Monroe? – has sparked debate among film scholars, cultural critics, historians, novelists, filmmakers and the general public for decades. ‘Marilyn’, the character and personality brought to life by the young star, Norma Jeane Mortenson, is she a real person? Or is it just an imaginary image? Andrew Dominik’s new film Blonde, starring Ana de Armas as Monroe, adds another level to this age-old question in the legend of the actress’s life which is fascinating and disturbing. Based on the 2000 novel of the same name by Joyce Carol Oates, the film sees Monroe torn between two different selves. As the star explains in the trailer of the film, his character is not real. “When I leave my room, I’m Norma Jeane. I’m still him when the camera is rolling,” he pleads, sounding frustrated and exhausted. “Marilyn Monroe is only on the screen.”

Film historian Michelle Vogel, author of Marilyn Monroe: Her Movies, Her Life, echoes this sentiment. “I don’t think there is a ‘real’ Marilyn Monroe,” Vogel said in an interview. “It’s a character and an attitude that he’s going to play with, both on and off the pitch. At heart, Marilyn Monroe was always Norma Jeane. … When he played this role, it was Norma Jeane, playing Marilyn Monroe, playing said role. It’s not easy.”

For the Blonde, Armas of Knives Out actress, the role was an emotional and spiritual revelation. “I really believe [Marilyn] is close to us, she’s with us,” de Armas told Deadline. “…It’s all I thought, it’s all I dreamed, it’s all I can say.” The actor adds, “I knew I had to open up and go to places where I knew they wouldn’t be good and dark and weak. That’s where I found a connection with this person.

So who is Marilyn Monroe? Once upon a time, he was a real person, a childhood dream come true – the dream of a little girl named Norma Jeane Mortenson.

Monroe’s first contract with 20th Century Fox fell through, as did her next deal with Columbia, but through it all she continued to strive to shape herself into the person she wanted to be. “I know what it’s like to be a third,” he wrote in his memoirs. “I really felt my lack of talent, like the cheap clothes I was wearing in it. But, my god, I want to learn, change, improve. Changing her name to Marilyn Monroe – first as a screen name, then as a legal name in 1956 – was only part of her big change. Living out of pocket, he has developed his craft and supports himself by doing shows. The account of Monroe’s life, whether based on fact or fiction, focuses on his suffering and losing his hard work and dedication. The legends surrounding his life have overshadowed what helped make him famous: his acting. “When Monroe is on screen, you’re watching her,” film scholar Steven Cohan says in an interview. “[T]here is something physical about Monroe that explodes on film. … He still took a good picture. So there is something very beautiful about its performance. He also had a good time – just look at his delivery line.

Although Monroe may be best known for his comedies “white fools”, films such as The Prince and the Showgirl (1957) and The Misfits (1961), his co-star ‘ western Clark Gable, testifies to his range. That’s not to say that his comedy work lacks depth. Her hilarious role as the showgirl Lorelei Lee in Gentlemen Prefer Blondes drew much of her humor from the character’s absurdity of intelligence. “I can be smart when it’s important, but a lot of guys don’t like it,” Lorelei says in the film, emphasizing one point with a laugh. The star’s professional progress is even more interesting 카지노사이트 because of his personal struggles. Monroe was quite difficult to work with, as she was often behind schedule and often missed her lines. But not a diva. “Of course, he was scared,” says Vogel. “It’s a wobbly movie theater, often feverish or physically sick at the thought of acting.” He was acting in a way that the doctors gently gave him to deal with his confusion and anxiety.

Monroe’s career flourished as her love life failed, with two successive husbands failing to understand the woman she wanted to be. Football legend Joe DiMaggio has criticized the sexuality of his wife’s public image. Playwright Arthur Miller hated his cult. “Marilyn Monroe desperately wanted to be loved,” film historian Karina Longworth said in a 2017 episode of the “You Must Remember This” podcast. “But he never had the courage to realize that he could choose who he would love.”

Lady Gaga Dog Walker Shooter: Jailed for 21 Years

A man who shot and injured Lady Gaga’s dog walker while stealing a dog has been jailed for 21 years.

James Howard Jackson pleaded no contest – as guilty – to attempted murder.

Ryan Fischer was walking the singer’s three French bulldogs in Hollywood in February 2021 when Jackson shot him in the chest, the court heard.

Mr. Fischer said he had to have part of his lung removed after the attack. He went to court Monday and said the shooting changed his life forever, CBS News reported.

The Los Angeles district attorney’s office called the attack a “callous act of violence.” Several other charges Jackson faced were dismissed as part of the plea deal.

Jackson and one of four other people followed and took two of the dogs, Koji and Gustav, after the shooting. The third bulldog, Miss Asia, 온라인카지노 ran away and was found by the police.

At the time, police said they believed the dogs were wanted because of their breed – not because of their owner’s identity. The two stolen dogs were returned unharmed two days later after Gaga offered a $500,000 (£359,000) reward.

His accomplice, Harold White, pleaded guilty Monday to violating a law that prohibits ex-convicts from possessing firearms. He will be sentenced next year.

Ms. Marvel Concept Art With the X-Men Easter Egg Deleted

The first wife of Ms. Marvel was jam-packed with Marvel Cinematic Universe Easter Eggs to introduce AvengerCon and there should be even more that hinted at the X-Men.

Ms. Marvel saw the opening of AvengerCon for its first event, which is a worldwide convention for diehard Avengers fans everywhere, and is said to be one of the best series of the show. The excitement that surrounds the convention is reflected only by the excitement of the title character (Kamala Khan of Iman Vellani, aka Ms. Marvel).

The in-universe AvengerCon series has been so well-received by fans that Disney has launched an official website for the convention that gives viewers a closer look at the epic MCU event. Producer Bisha K. Ali revealed some of the classic cameos that are set to appear at AvengerCon like Korg and some “winged horses” like Pegasus from Valkyrie. It’s almost like an X-Men Easter Egg 카지노사이트

Now that Ms. Marvel is over, for now, concept artist Shae Shaz has shared new promotional art from the development of the Disney+ series that features an unexpected Easter egg that connects the superhero to the X-Men.

The official concept art showed footage from the AvengerCon series that included a cosplayer dressed as Cyclops from X-Men in the background. The costume worn by the cosplayer is similar to the one worn by Cyclops in Uncanny X-Men #500. Whether it is known or not, it is interesting that the artist chose Cyclops as an X-Men cameo, because in the movie, he became Kamala’s best friend. After Civil War II in the movie, Kamala, Spider-Man, and Nova split from the Avengers to form their own team called the Avengers.

In this new season, Kamala finds a version of Cyclops that takes away time and the two have a strong bond with each other, creating a strange bond with the mutant. If it’s done on purpose, it’s an amazing easter egg for introducing mice into the MCU. If it happens by accident, what a terrible coincidence. Another image shows that a Stormtrooper is almost on display at AvengerCon, which begs the question “Is it an Easter egg, or is it just an artist including other Marvel characters in Intelligence and skill?

When Will Marvel Finally Introduce the X-men?

Mrs. Marvel last season hinted at his existence as a mutant, and was the first hint of the X-Men franchise in the MCU where it was acquired by Disney. Perhaps the reason this concept art hasn’t been shown to fans yet is that Marvel didn’t want too many questions raised before the explosive reveal of Kamala’s mutant DNA.

It is not yet known exactly when Mutants and X-Men will enter the Marvel Cinematic Universe, however, Kamala’s discovery paves the way for all the franchises, although it is a difficult discovery for him. It’s unlikely that the boys will join the MCU during the multiverse saga, so gamers have a few years before they see the next X-Men look.

As the author of a series that has garnered 1.2 billion plays, Rachel Smythe is one of the world’s leading webtoon creators. But in his hometown of New Zealand, almost no one knows what he is doing.

“If I go to a party, people will be like: ‘I don’t know what that is,'” said Smythe, whose novel based on his ‘Lore Olympus’ series landed on the New York Times bestseller list. last year. “When I told them I got a job with an app that was founded in Korea, they said, ‘Rachel, this looks like a scam – are you okay?'”

Webtoons, comic books designed to be read on phones, are the latest South Korean cultural export to come out of Asia following the global success of K-pop superstars BTS and Netflix sensation Squid Game.

They used to be the biggest company in Japan. In January last year, Piccoma, the Japanese webtoon subsidiary of Korean company Kakao Entertainment, had a monthly revenue of $96 million, making it the second-highest non-gaming app in the world. It is behind TikTok, more than YouTube and Tinder apps. Now, webtoons are entering the mainstream. We’re all dead, the upcoming South Korean zombie apocalypse drama that began life as a digital comic on the Naver Webtoon platform, is a non-language show at the end of February. English is often watched on Netflix. Webtoons Kakao Itaewon Class, Moving and Dr Brain have successfully made it into TV series on Netflix, Disney + and Apple TV + respectively.

But Smythe’s experience shows how many non-East Asians are still unfamiliar with webtoons, even as they gather a growing, non-Asian audience and focus on the US market. One of the industry’s pioneers was Kim Jun-koo, a software engineer who was dismayed by the rapid demise of traditional Korean manhwa animation due to the Asian financial crisis in the late 1990s. His webtoon platform Naver Webtoon, which he founded in 2004, is now the largest in the world, with 750,000 creators and 82 million active monthly users. The value of bulk goods, the proportion of money that users spend on these goods, increased from $492 million in 2019 to $900 million in 2021. “Webtoon is not a digital form of comedy. It’s comedy that’s created digitally,” Kim said. “In Korea, comedy is disappearing, it’s an example of a bad situation leading to the creation of something new.”

Major platforms such as Naver Webtoon and Kakao Webtoon provide tools for creators to create and upload webtoons for free, providing an almost unlimited audience of content.

“There is no genre limitation in webtoons, and there are different genres,” said Jang Min-gi, a professor of media communication at Kyungnam University. “Employees can see them on the go, get them quickly, and check them out in less time.”

With hundreds of thousands of creators and tens of millions of monthly readers, webtoon companies can deploy multiple revenue streams. Some use a YouTube-like model to attract a large audience with free content, others a Netflix-like model to attract paid subscribers for the most popular channels, or a “microtransaction” payment model of the app. game confirmed. .

“Business models have evolved to pay readers for future events if they want to read them immediately. . . if the story is interesting and exciting, readers won’t want to wait,” Song said.

Analysts and company leaders describe a “good environment”, in which the successful transition to other media attracts international audiences, who turn to webtoons to -search for their headlines and favorite people. Park Jeong-seo, a business manager, said, “It is very expensive to make dramas and soap operas, especially fantasy dramas, while making dramas requires little money but can have a good visual impact, ” said Park Jeong-seo, business manager. Webtoon and Kakao Entertainment.

In addition to exporting their audience to foreign platforms, Korean platforms have taken to “importing” foreign audiences through businesses that allow them access to what Kim Jun-koo describes as “super IP “. In 2019, Kakao Entertainment entered into a partnership with the American comic book publisher DC Comics. Naver Webtoon has entered into a partnership with DC, rival Marvel, Archie Comics, and Hybe, the South Korean company behind BTS.

Both platforms have built a following in Europe, Latin America and Southeast Asia. Naver Webtoon, which offers services in French, Spanish and German, is launching its own European office, while Kakao Webtoon launched in Thailand and Taiwan last year. “We are currently focusing on our expansion in the United States, which is the largest content market in the world. To be successful there, we need to create webtoons that suit the tastes of Americans,” said Park Jeong-seo of Kakao Entertainment, which last year acquired Los Angeles-based webtoon publisher Tapas. Media as part of the deal is worth $510 million.

Naver Webtoon’s 14 million US users make up 17% of its global readership, compared to 25% in South Korea, 15% in Southeast Asia, 8% in Japan and 4% in Europe. Last year, it completed $ 600 million of the Canadian company Wattpad, a tool for creative writing and 94 million users.

Giving the company access to new employees in overseas markets, company leaders believe that the purchase will help them improve the quality of their plans by collaborating with upcoming artists. Aron Levitz, CEO of Wattpad, said, “There are two ways to tell a story – visual and written – so if we bring them together, it will be more powerful.”

Naver Webtoon CEO Kim Jun-koo said that despite the company’s intentions to support its parent company, Korean web portal Naver, “we plan to get more aggressive, if we have a need for large investment, we plan to consider an IPO or external financing.

As the webtoon platform focuses on the United States, analysts have wondered whether Korea’s “digital food culture” will be suitable for American audiences. Both leaders and producers are counting on a group of consumers they say is often overlooked: teenage girls and teenage girls. Of the US users of Naver Webtoons, more than 70% are under the age of 24. Girls make up 80% of Wattpad readers.

It was this crowd that propelled the webtoon “Lore of Olympus” by Rachel Smythe based on the Greek myth of Persephone and Hades to the top of digital and physical graphics. “Young women are so passionate and have so much to offer, but often the things they love are stigmatized and looked down upon,” said Smythe.

“It’s an instrument where they celebrate and honor the things they love. I think that’s why it works so well.”
